Growth timing varies: toy and small dogs often finish growing before 12 months. Most medium-sized dogs finish growing at around 12 months. Large and giant breeds may keep growing until around 18–24 months. Choose the option that matches your dog now; if you are unsure, ask your vet.

How do I choose?

Start at 2% for weight loss, low-energy dogs or dogs with a smaller appetite; 2.5% as a standard starting point for most adult dogs; or 3% for very active or working dogs. Activity is only a guide—an active overweight dog should usually start at the lower end. Monitor body condition and ask your vet about a safe target weight.
